December 15th - Tift Merritt's "Tambourine" voted #8 best record of 2004 in No Depression magazine.

December 13th - N.C.'s song "Cora Jones" appears on the "Blue Christmas" compilation cd, January 2005 issue of Mojo magazine. Also included on the cd are the Flaming Lips, Rufus Wainwright, Ed Harcourt, Marvin Gaye, The Staples Singers, James Brown, Handsome Family, and more..

November 23rd - 4 star review of "Leaving Traces" in the December issue of Uncut magazine.

November 20th - N.C. and band complete the "Test your Nerve" tour.. 40 dates, two months throughout Europe. Some countries visited: France, Germany, Spain, England, Norway, Sweden, Holland, Scotland, Belgium. Thanks to everyone who came to the shows...

October 19th - "Leaving Traces", a compilation of N.C. songs from 94´-04´ released throughout Europe and the USA on Fargo Records.. Includes bonus tracks and DVD footage from the "Fade Away Diamond Time" and "Anytime Tomorrow" sessions.

August 30th – N.C. articles in the September issues of French Rolling Stone, and Rock & Folk.

August 27th – N.C. plays the Festival des Granges in Laimont, France, with Chris Whitley, Mandino Reinhardt quintet, Hamilton De Hollanda, etc.

August 25th – N.C. plays/sings on the new Tift Merritt record, "Tambourine", just released on Lost Highway Records. Produced by George Drakoulias, featuring Gary Louris, Mike Campbell, Maria Mckee, etc... N.C. also shot the back cover and collage photos for the cd artwork.

July 22nd – Four star reviews of "Return in Kind" in the august issues of MOJO and UNCUT magazines.

July 10th – N.C. and band headline the Musiques en Stock festival in Cluses, France.

June 22nd – N.C. plays sold out show w/ electric band at The Borderline in London. Also played the Crossroads festival at the Olympia in Paris on June 18th. Sang and played songs with Gary Louris, Ken Stringfellow, Mary Lee’s Corvette, and solo/electric band.. also played solo acoustic show at Hotel du Nord in Paris on June 20th, Louris, Stringfellow, Mike Shapiro, and Thomas Brun also sat in.

June 14th - N.C.’s new covers record, “Return in Kind”, released throughout Europe. Includes songs by Johnny Thunders, Doug Sahm, Royal Trux, Faces, Gene Clark, and more. Also features Dave Scher (Beachwood Sparks, All Night Radio) and Eric Heywood (Calexico, Son Volt). Available from www.fargorecords.com.

June 9th - N.C. completes two week solo/euro tour. Dates included a “Return in kind” release party/show in Paris with guest musicians Ken Stringfellow and Andrew Bird, an appearance at the Orange Blossom Special festival in Germany (sat in with Mark Olson, Victoria Williams, and the Creekdippers) , and other shows with Transmissionary Six, Chris Eckman, etc.

June 8th - four star review of “Return in Kind” in the Irish Times.

May 13th - N.C. sings/plays five nights (May 6,7,8,10,11) at London’s Royal Albert Hall with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, opening for Eric Clapton.

May 13th - N.C.'s photo of Van Hunt appears in the May 27th issue of "Rolling Stone", American edition.

May 13th - N.C. plays guitar and sings with Robert Randolph and the Family Band, on "later with Jools Holland"..also on the show are Alicia Keys, Rufus Wainwright, Alanis Morrisette, and Devendra Banhart.

March 10th - N.C. plays guitar on the “Starsky and Hutch” soundtrack, and even appears in the movie for about two seconds.

February 4th - N.C. plays sold out solo acoustic show at Islington Academy in London as part of a Fargo Records showcase. B.J. Cole guests on pedal steel guitar..also on the bill are Andrew Bird and Clem Snide.

January 26th - N.C. completes two week u.s./Canadian tour with Warner Bros. artist Johnathan Rice, opening for Starsailor.

January 15th - N.C. voted artist of the year by readers and writers in the French music mag Crossroads..

December 16th - N.C.’s “Maybe California” compilation is voted #21 on French Rolling Stone’s top 100 records of 2003 list. N.C. is also voted #5 artist of 2003 in the French magazine “Rock and Folk”....big thanks to Fargo Records.


October 30th - Hazy Malaze debut record is reviewed by Sylvie Simmons in November issue of MOJO magazine. Recent articles and reviews also include Classic Rock and Kerrang. Hazy Malaze is now available throughout Europe on Fargo Records.

October 15th - N.C. completes solo acoustic tour of Japan. Dates included shows in Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Kamakura.

August 1, 2003 - N.C. contributes backing vocals to two songs on the debut record by Robert Randolph & The Family Band. "Unclassified" available on Warner Bros. Records.

August 1, 2003 - N.C. played two solo acoustic shows July 17 & 18th at the "Waiting for Waits" Festival in Mallorca, Spain. Also on the bill were Peter Case, Lisa Germano, and Martha Wainwright.

May 01, 2003 - Hazy Malaze supports Robert Randolph and The Family Band at Jazz Fest in New Orleans.

April 11, 2003 - Hazy Malaze completes one month U.S. tour supporting Robert Randolph and The Family Band. Dates include the New Daisy Theatre in Memphis, the Showbox in Seattle, the Exit/Inn in Nashville with Kenny Roby and band, and two nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco with the North Mississippi All Stars.

Feb 26, 2003 - Hazy Malaze completes three week u.s. tour with MOFRO...dates included the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, the Troubadour in L.A., Tractor Tavern in Seattle..etc..

Feb 04, 2003 - N.C. completes sold out 15 date acoustic tour in France. Fargo Records releases "Maybe California", a compilation of earlier work and a few unreleased songs.. album of the month and four star review in January issue of french Rolling Stone. feature story in February issue of Rolling Stone. also appears on the cover of Crossroads and Rock Sud magazines...

Dec 11, 2002 - N.C. and Shannon's EP "Ran On Pure Lighting" reviewed in the December issue of MOJO magazine. Look under "Essential Americana".

Oct 15, 2002 - N.C. plays guitar and sings backing vocals on Dayna Manning's newest release, "Shades". available on EMI Music Canada.

Aug 27, 2002 - N.C. sings backing vocals on the song "Good Morning" from Duncan Sheik's newest release "Daylight", available on Atlantic Records.

June 2002 - Railroad Earth releases "Bird in a House" on Sugar Hill Records featuring a cover of neal's song "Dandelion Wine".

May 2002- N.C. is interviewed in the May 2002 issue of Alternative Press Magazine.

April 23.2002 - N.C. appears on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, playing guitar with Shannon Mcnally.

Oct.9.2001 - N.C. 6th album "Anytime Tomorrow" is now available on Morebarn Records. Produced by acclaimed producer and long-time friend Jim Scott, the album features performances by Don Heffington, John Ginty, Greg Leisz, Bob Glaub and Angie McKenna. Visit the music section for audio samples.
Sep.17.2001 - "Anytime Tomorrow" documentary premieres at the New Yorker Film Festival in San Francisco, CA.
Aug-Oct.2001 - N.C. played guitar and piano with Beachwood Sparks as they opened for the Black Crowes on their US Tour.

Aug.2001 - N.C. plays guitar and bass on Rufus Wainwright song "He's Ain't Heavy...He's My Brother" on the "Zoolander" soundtrack now out on Hollywood Records.
